Job Description

Calling all Purchasing Assistants!

 

Our client is looking for you to join their team.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor stock levels and identify purchasing needs.
  • Research potential vendors.
  • Track orders and ensure timely delivery.
  • Update internal databases with order details.
  • Conduct market research to identify pricing trends.
  • Evaluate offers from vendors and negotiate better prices.
  • Maintain updated records of invoices and contracts.
  • Follow up with suppliers, as needed, to confirm or change orders.
  • Liaise with warehouse staff to ensure all products arrive in good condition.

 

Skills:

  • Excellent written and oral communication.
  • Stung numeracy and analytical skills.
  • Maintain client and vendor relationships.
  • The ability to work in a pressurised environment, adhering to strict targets and deadlines. 
  • A flair for negotiation and networking.
  • Develop purchasing strategies and budget planning. 

 

Requirements:

  • 3rd Level Qualification in Business, Marketing, Sales, Logistics or relevant area.
  • 1+ years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Good understanding of supply chain procedures
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • Knowledge of market research.
  • Solid organizational skills.

 

Hours of Work:

  • 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
