Armidale is a city in the Northern Tablelands, New South Wales, Australia. Armidale had a population of 24,504 as at June 2017. It is the administrative centre for the Northern Tablelands region. It is approximately halfway between Sydney and Brisbane at the junction of the New England Highway and Waterfall Way. The scenery around Armidale includes forests, mountain gorges, waterfalls (Wollomombi Falls are one of the highest in Australia) and four national parks. Armidale is also known for its gracious city parklands; its schools and its impressive Anglican and Catholic cathedrals. The distance from Armidale to Brisbane is 378 kilometers (235 miles).
Our client has newly renovated ($60m development project completed in 2018) operating theatres in Armidale, the most historic town in NSW. Our hospital preformed 949 day only surgical procedures. Armidale hospital is meeting their targets of treating category A, B and C patients within the specified timeframes. With over 258 FTE staff, our hospital is small and focused on work life balance for staff.
Armidale offers general surgery in the following areas: Upper GI, Colorectal, Liver / HBP, Breast, Skin, Vascular and Paediatric Surgery (>2yrs)
Successful candidates must have the following skills and experience:
- Over 4 years experience in Perioperative Nursing, working across all areas - anaesthetics, scrub, circulatory and recovery.
- Experience working in general elective surgeries across all areas of general surgery.
- Perioperative Post Graduate qualification
- AHPRA registration or AHPRA in principle
