Job Description

We are recruiting an Accounts Assistant on behalf of our client based in Sligo town. This is an associate-level, full time, permanent position and will commence ASAP. You will report to the General Manager of the company and will perform general accounting duties including, but not limited to, administration, processing, reconciliations, and reports relating to all modules including accounts payable and receivable as well as cash books etc. 

Personal Profile: 

  • 3rd level Diploma/higher certificate in accounting/business or similar
  • Proven experience in a similar role desirable, 2 years 
  • Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable and cashbook experience would be advantageous
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams) and accounting software (Sage)
  • Excellent organisational skills with a high level of detail, Excellent communication skills 

Duties and Responsibilities  

  • AP Duties- allocating and reconciling supplier accounts, Invoice processing and filing, creating new supplier accounts and liaising with the purchasing team. 
  • AR Duties-  allocating and reconciling customer accounts, Invoice processing and filing. Placing accounts on hold, liaising with the Sales Orders team, setting up new accounts on sage, sending out monthly statements, credit control and debt collection.
  • Investigate and report any unauthorised transactions and missing/incomplete receipts.
  • Assisting with month-end reporting and sales reports.
  • Bank and cashbook allocations and reconciliation
  • Deal with supplier/customer account enquiries by email and phone.
