Job Description

Reporting  to the Deputy Director of HR The postholder will be responsible  for the provision of the organisations central training and development activities .He/she will manage the training needs analysis, design and delivery of training with a particular focus on assisting in the  development of  a skills strategy for service staff

 

 

 MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

   

  • Development, design and implementation of effective HR learning and development  interventions which support the HR and the organisation’s Skills and Performance strategies
  • Lead the development of a cohesive staff skills training plan for the university by conducting skills audits, developing programmes and evaluating impact
  • Influence and support the Senior Management in identifying relevant skill gaps and training needs for their areas of responsibility and provide best practice learning solutions.
  • Work in conjunction with HR Managers to ensure that the learning from training initiatives is captured and that future programmes reflect this learning
  • Work in conjunction HR Managers to ensure a focus on skills and performance in line with strategy
  • Develop and implement HR processes and systems which support the organisation in delivering on its strategy in particular PMDS across the organisation
  • Support the implementation of the PMDS and act as a mentor or coach in performance discussions and development plans
  • Management of the organisation’s FEP Policy for staff undertaking programmes of study and the relevant supports to staff on further study
  • Management of stakeholder and relationships with L& D providers to ensure excellent service delivery and on-going programme redesign in line with feedback and evaluation
  • Participate in the organisation’s wide change management initiatives with a people focus
  • Analysis and align best practice HR research to ensure the “best fit” for the organisation

 

REQUIRMENTS

The post holder will be a seasoned professional with

  • at least 5 years’ HR professional experience including experience in Training & Development  and Organisational Development and 3rd level education sector experience
  • primary degree  coupled with membership of the IPD  or a relevant postgraduate qualification in
  • Must have experience with survey/application tools
  • Strong experience with analysis, documentation, research of programmes, systems and process
  • Candidate must be both project and process oriented
