Key Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to infants, children, adolescents, and their families
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualised patient care
- Provide family-centred care while supporting parents and carers throughout the patient journey
- Monitor patient progress and recognise clinical deterioration appropriately
- Administer medications, treatments, and therapies in accordance with clinical guidelines
- Collaborate with medical officers, allied health professionals, and multidisciplinary teams
- Maintain accurate patient documentation and clinical records
- Support patient education and health promotion initiatives
- Participate in quality improvement and patient safety activities
- Contribute positively to a supportive team culture
- Maintain professional standards and commitment to ongoing development
Requirements
- Registered Nurse with current registration or eligibility for AHPRA registration
- Minimum 2-3 years post-registration experience in one of the following specialties:
- NICU
- PICU
- Paediatric Oncology
- Paediatric Dialysis
- Paediatric Emergency
- Experience gained within the UK, Ireland, Canada, USA, New Zealand, or Australian healthcare systems
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Experience caring for acutely unwell paediatric patients
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Commitment to patient-centred and family-centred care
- Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development
- Relevant specialty certifications highly desirable
