Celebrating Female Leadership on International Women’s Day

As we celebrate International Women’s Day, we take a moment to recognICE and appreciate the incredible women who lead, inspire, and drive our company forward. This day is not just about acknowledging achievements but also about reaffirming our commitment to gender equality and empowerment in the workplace.

Honouring Our Female Leaders

At ICE Group, we are proud to have strong, talented women in leadership roles who shape our vision and success. Their dedication, resilience, and innovation are instrumental in cultivating a culture of excellence, collaboration and inclusivity.

From executive leaders to team leaders and emerging trailblazers, our ladies continue to break barriers, mentor others and set new standards of success. Their contributions are a testament to what is possible when talent is nurtured, and opportunities are equitably provided.

Stories of Inspiration

To mark this special day, we are highlighting some of our remarkable women who continue to make a lasting impact within our organisation and industry. Their journeys, challenges, and triumphs serve as inspiration for the next generation of women in the workforce.

Below are a few stories from just some of the incredible women we get to work with in ICE.

Elizabeth, Chief Revenue Officer – I started at ICE Group in college and have worked (on and off) since 1992. Now as CRO, I’ve held roles across Recruitment and Training, always focused on business growth. One of my proudest achievements was launching the Sligo office in 2001, growing it from 2 to 7 employees. It’s hard to believe I’ve been back for nearly 9 years—a true sign of enjoying the journey. Women often face challenges balancing work and family, as they typically take on more family responsibilities. At ICE Group, a pro-women workplace with strong female leaders, we’re encouraged to speak up and grow. There are no limits placed on us—if anything, more is expected because we’re capable of achieving more. I don’t know if I am a leader to look up to (classic woman thing to say!), however, the one piece of advice is always find your voice within an organisation, and make sure it is your authentic voice.  Don’t try to be what you think the organisation wants, be the person you are, never be afraid to respectfully challenge a colleague or boss, that is where real growth and development comes from.

Breann, Chief People Officer – I’ve been part of the amazing ICE Group team for over 13 years, starting as a Temp and growing into a Leadership role. Along the way, I earned a Master’s in HR, became a homeowner, and built a family—all while advancing my career. ICE Group has provided incredible opportunities for growth, and I’m forever grateful. Early on, I wondered if I could have it all—career, family, and success. My advice is simple – the same way you eat an elephant, take it one bite at a time.

Evanna, Contingency Workforce Manager – I’ve been with ICE Group for over five years, growing through various roles. I started under our Managing Director, Margaret Cox, gaining invaluable experience, and now lead our stellar Contingent Workforce (CWF) team, reporting to our Chief Revenue Officer, Elizabeth Cox. Both have been incredible mentors, shaping my development. Before ICE, I worked extensively in adult and community-based settings. Reflecting on my journey, I realise how much my growth has been influenced by strong, solutions-focused women—and by men like my father, who championed equality at home and beyond. On International Women’s Day, I acknowledge the persistent global and local gender inequalities—unequal pay, lack of paternity leave, and societal expectations. Progress is slow, sometimes even regressive, but surrounded by fearless, capable women, I remain hopeful for change.

Heather, Onsite Interpreting  – I oversee interpreting and translation services for healthcare clients, ensuring patients have access to language support when needed. After six years at ICE Group, I’ve built strong relationships with clients, candidates who became clients, and helped many people find roles that suit them. In the fast-paced world of recruitment, I’ve learned the value of clear communication, trust, and resilience. Every day brings new challenges but staying adaptable and helpful to clients and candidates is key. Confidence in your decisions, even when it’s tough, is essential—believing in your judgment will set you apart and build long-term trust. My advice is to trust yourself and your abilities. Keep learning, speak up, and lean on supportive colleagues for advice. Don’t fear new challenges or promotions—you’re capable of more than you think!

Joan, Contracted Training Manager – With 17 years in training and education, I have led ETB training contracts and worked as a secondary school Physics teacher. Currently, I manage contracted training for 9 ETBs, overseeing thousands of programs across Ireland. As a woman in leadership, I champion excellence, innovation, and gender equality in education. At ICE Group, I provide strategic and commercial leadership, securing major public training contracts and expanding access to high-quality learning. A qualified teacher with an M.Sc. in Educational Multimedia, I specialise in curriculum development, online learning, and industry collaboration. I drive quality improvements, secure certifications, and ensure training meets diverse learner needs. Passionate about STEM, I work to expand opportunities, particularly for women in tech. On International Women’s Day, I reflect on progress in leadership and education while recognising the work still ahead. I remain committed to promoting an inclusive and empowering learning environment.

Linda, Pitman Training – Working at Pitman means a lot to me. I started a Pitman training course while caring for my newborn, beginning when my daughter was one and finishing when she was three. Soon after, I joined Pitman. Pregnancy and postnatal depression left me feeling isolated, but the course and the incredible support from ICE Group helped me regain my confidence, independence, and sense of self. It has been an amazing experience to be surrounded by so many strong, inspiring women at ICE Group. It’s wonderful to celebrate the power and strength each woman brings to the team.

Nathalia, Finance – Being a woman in finance means a lot to me. I love problem-solving and ensuring things run smoothly. As an immigrant in Ireland, my journey hasn’t been easy, but it has made me stronger and more confident. I’m proud of how far I’ve come and hope to inspire other women to pursue their goals. My advice to other women in finance and beyond is to trust your knowledge, stay confident, and never hesitate to take up space in the room. Speak up, ask questions, and always seek opportunities to grow. The more we support and uplift each other, the stronger we become. Success in any industry is about persistence, continuous learning, and believing in your capabilities.

Jessica, Healthcare Recruitment – I’ve been with ICE for nearly two years, recruiting Nurses and Midwives for Australia, and discovered a passion for marketing along the way. With women leading the company, I’m proud to be part of an organization that empowers women, and female role models have inspired my growth. Helping people relocate is a key part of my role, and emotional awareness—often seen as a weakness—helps me assess candidates and provide better guidance, leading to successful placements. My advice to women: keep going! You have the capabilities, even if you doubt it. Ghandi’s quote, “be the change you want to see in the world,” has always inspired me, thanks to strong women in my life. As women, we should be proud of who we are.

Edel, HR – My development here is no work of my own, I have observed strong working women that make juggling work life balance look so effortless. HR can be a difficult role when starting out with learning different laws and procedures but having a helpful team makes such a difference. My advice for people in any role is to observe, listen and learn from every experience that comes your way and ask whatever questions you need to help you learn.

Looking Ahead

While we celebrate the progress we have made, we also acknowledge that there is more work to be done. We remain dedicated to cultivating a workplace where women have equal opportunities to grow, lead and succeed.

On this International Women’s Day, let us continue to support, uplift and champion the incredible women who make a difference every day. Together, we can create a future where gender equality is not just an aspiration, but a reality.

Imagine a gender equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. A world that’s diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated. Together we can forge gender equality. Collectively for #IWD2025 we can all #AccelerateAction

Happy International Women’s Day!
