Launch Your Australian Healthcare Career with Far West LHDs Working Holiday Visa Program
Imagine arriving in Australia with a job already lined up, your accommodation sorted, and an adventure waiting beyond your doorstep. For nurses and allied health professionals ready to take the leap, the new Far West Local Health District (FWLHD) Working Holiday Visa (WHV) Program offers the perfect first stop on your Australian journey.
This unique initiative, created in partnership with ICE Jobs, allows eligible Working Holiday Visa holders to work in the Australian healthcare system while exploring one of the most authentic and welcoming regions of New South Wales.
Why Start Here?
Relocating to Australia can feel daunting, especially when it comes to finding work, housing, and your first paycheque. The Far West LHD program removes those worries by providing:
- A guaranteed job before you arrive – giving you peace of mind and stability from day one (3 to 6-month contracts on offer)
- Paid accommodation for 3–6 months – so you can save for travel or a future move to Sydney, Melbourne, or another metro area.
- An additional allowance per hour on top of NSW Award rates
For many candidates, this means starting your Australian experience with minimal stress, lower costs, and a strong professional foundation in a supportive health district that values overseas expertise.
Build Your Australian Experience
Working with Far West LHD isn’t just a job, it’s an investment in your career. You’ll gain first-hand experience in the Australian healthcare system, develop local references, and strengthen your skills for future opportunities, including potential sponsored or permanent roles down the track.
For many nurses and allied health professionals, it’s the ideal way to test the waters, grow professionally, and enjoy the freedom that comes with a Working Holiday Visa.

Far West NSW offers a lifestyle that’s truly Australian, from the red earth of the outback to the friendly local communities that make every newcomer feel at home. On your days off, explore the national parks, hiking trails, outback pubs, and heritage towns that make this region so special.
With accommodation included and an additional pay incentive, you can save money, travel Australia, and gain meaningful professional experience all at once.
