ICE Jobs is currently recruiting for two Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) opportunities within the Far West Local Health District, based in Broken Hill:
- Nurse Unit Manager – Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
- Nurse Unit Manager – Dialysis Services
These roles offer an exceptional opportunity for experienced nurse leaders to step into key leadership positions within a supportive rural healthcare environment.
About the Roles
As a Nurse Unit Manager, you will be responsible for delivering strong clinical and operational leadership within your specialty area. You will oversee the day-to-day management of your unit, ensuring high standards of patient care, staff engagement, and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate clinical and operational functions within ICU or Dialysis
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to nursing and multidisciplinary teams
- Ensure compliance with clinical governance, safety, and quality standards
- Manage staffing levels, rosters, and resource allocation
- Drive continuous improvement and patient-centred care initiatives
Essential Requirements
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- ANMAC recognition/eligibility
- Minimum 2 – 3 years’ managerial experience in a healthcare setting
- Demonstrated clinical experience in:
- ICU (for ICU NUM role)
- Dialysis/Renal (for Dialysis NUM role)
- Proven leadership capability in complex clinical environments
