Accounts Payable Manager 12 month Contract-June 2025 to June 2026-Based in Oranmore, Co Galway
- Lead and supervise the accounts payable team ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of all account payable functions
- Take full responsibility for end-to-end accounts payable process including invoice processing, approvals workflows, payment runs and approvals and associated reconciliations.
- Review and approval of weekly travel & subsistence claims in line with public sector and internal policy.
- Oversee supplier management including supplier setup, bank changes and supplier’s ledger setup and approvals within our finance system. Supplier statement reconciliations.
- Ensure strong internal controls are maintained, strong focus on compliance, governance and audit readiness
- Provide oversight and approval of all revenue returns and reconciliation of associated control accounts.
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for review and approval
- Assist in providing backup for the of annual financial statements.
- Assist with ad-hoc finance requirements including payroll processing as required from time to time.
Qualifications / Skills / Experience / Competence / Capability Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in an accounts payable team in a very busy accounts payable environment, preferably supervising and managing the team/function.
- Strong knowledge of public sector and revenue rules as applicable to invoices, prompt payment, Professional Services Withholding Tax (PSWT), Relevant Contracts Tax (RCT) and Travel and subsistence regulations.
- Strong IT skills including the use of MS Office, MS Teams and MS SharePoint.
- Proven experience using ERP systems in a finance environment.
- Relevant third level qualification or other qualification with relevant experience in Finance or Accounting.
- Excellent organisation skills.
- Effective communication skills at multiple levels.
- Ability to balance multiple deadlines and delivery of outputs in a busy environment.
- Ideally bring some public sector experience.
- Ideally to have familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics Navision, Business Central or similar ERP system.
- Ideally brings some experience in payroll processing or supervision of same.
