Operations Shift Manager (12‑Month Contract)
Reports to: Senior Operations Manager
Location: Ballina, Co. Mayo
Contract Type: 12‑month temporary contract
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Operations Shift Manager to manage and inspire a multi‑skilled team in a high‑volume manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for delivering shift performance, driving operational excellence, and ensuring that all activities meet strict safety, quality, environmental, and production standards.
You will play a key leadership role in executing daily and weekly production plans, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and ensuring strong communication throughout the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and develop a multi‑skilled operations team, ensuring full engagement and high performance.
- Oversee daily operations to ensure all tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality standards.
- Execute daily and weekly production plans to meet business targets and operational commitments.
- Ensure timely completion of corrective and preventive actions to eliminate repeat service or quality issues.
- Communicate clearly and consistently through established daily, weekly, and monthly team routines.
- Drive operational excellence by embedding continuous improvement practices using lean principles and systems.
- Support a results‑oriented culture through effective workload prioritization and strong decision‑making.
Qualifications & Experience
- Third‑level qualification in a business or technical discipline.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a high‑volume manufacturing environment.
- People management or team‑leading experience is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities.
- Comfortable working collaboratively in a team‑based environment.
- Proven ability to manage and prioritise workload in a fast‑paced setting.
- High level of computer literacy.
- Effective facilitation, presentation, and team‑building skills.

Shift Details
- 2 days per week
- 12 hour shift
- Rotating Days/ nights
