We are seeking a suitably experienced individual to provide cover for a Facilities Management Supervisor until we can recruit a SPC for maternity leave cover, until 31/03/2026.
 
The Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day coordination and leadership of a multi-functional team delivering cleaning, stewarding, mailroom and building attendant services across the University.
 
The role ensures high-quality service delivery, staff supervision, and operational efficiency in line with service level agreements and University standards.
 
Key duties include managing staff rotas and attendance, overseeing outsourced and direct labour services, coordinating facilities support for events and exams, ensuring campus presentation standards, managing consumables and equipment, and supporting Health & Safety. The Supervisor also liaises with University stakeholders, contractors, and support units. The role requires flexibility to work shifts and respond to occasional out-of-hours emergencies.
 
Note: The current three Facilities Services Supervisors work a 5/5 work pattern (Mon – Fri), between the hours of 7am – 3pm, 8am – 4pm, or 9am – 5pm, on a three weekly rotational basis. The postholder will manage staff working a range of shifts between the hours of 5.45am and 11pm.
 
 
We are looking for a proactive, highly organised, detail-oriented individual with a strong foundation in people management.
 
Essential Criteria:

  1. Minimum five years’ experience managing a multi-functional team.
  2. QQI Level 7 qualification in Facilities Management, Management, or a related discipline.
  3. Demonstrated ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  4. Experience managing diverse work processes simultaneously.
  5. Proven delivery of high-quality customer-focused services.
  6. Strong planning and organisational skills.
  7. Demonstrated ability to develop and support teams.
  8. Ability to work effectively without direct supervision.
  9. Flexibility, adaptability, and capacity for innovation.
  10. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  11. Strong IT competency, including proficient use of MS Office.
