Finance Officer – Standalone Role
Location: Galway
Salary: Competitive, DOE
We’re looking for a Finance Officer to take ownership of the finance function across three growing business units which include training & development and AI & tech for SMEs.
This is a hands-on, one-person role reporting directly to the CEO, with responsibility for day-to-day finance operations and monthly reporting. You’ll manage everything from invoices and bank reconciliations through to VAT, management accounts, and supporting budgets/forecasts
We use AccountsIQ, so you’ll have access to a powerful finance platform with full multi-entity reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
– Own the day-to-day accounts cycle (AP, AR, bank recs, journals).
– Manage VAT returns, payroll support, and Revenue compliance.
– Prepare monthly management accounts, budgets, and cashflow reports.
– Track financial performance across three distinct business units.
– Liaise with auditors, banks, Revenue, and Enterprise Ireland.
What we’re looking for:
– 3-5+ years in a finance role (Assistant Accountant / Senior Bookkeeper / ATI).
– Strong VAT and management accounts experience.
– Solid Excel skills and experience with cloud systems (AccountsIQ an advantage).
– Independent, organised, and comfortable running the full finance cycle.
– Strong communicator, able to work directly with the CEO and management team.
