Contract: Temporary (6 months)
Duration: June 2026 to early December 2026
Location: Oranmore, Galway

Overview Our client is seeking an experienced Administrative Support professional to assist with the delivery of research funding programmes. This role will support financial processing, reporting, and coordination activities within a structured research environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process payments relating to grant awards, including:
    • Reviewing reports and receipts
    • Raising purchase orders and payment requests
  • Issue award letters for new funding calls on a bi-monthly cycle
  • Support preparation of reports on funding programmes
  • Arrange payments for external evaluators reviewing grant applications
  • Request and track submission of technical and financial reports from grant recipients
  • Maintain and update the research grant management system/portal
  • Draft content for press releases and social media communications
  • Assist with data compilation and reporting on funded research activities
  • Support preparation and coordination for upcoming research funding calls
Key Requirements

  • Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail, especially with numerical data
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally across a range of stakeholders (e.g. academic staff, researchers, students)
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team
  • Experience working with budgets and financial processes
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Positive, calm, and approachable manner
Experience

  • Previous experience in an administrative role involving financial reporting, funding programmes, or similar environments
  • Demonstrated ability to manage data, reporting, or grant-related processes is desirable
