Mental Health Nurse – PR186/SID482 Visa – Regional / Rural (Far West LHD)

Candidate Requirements:

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse with relevant qualifications
  • 2-3 years post qualifying experience 
  • Hold, or be eligible for, AHPRA registration (Our team can guide you through the process.)
  • ANMAC (Mental health code) for PR Pathway
  • Strong critical thinking and clinical assessment skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice

Job/Role responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive mental health assessments, including risk assessments to support accurate diagnosis and care planning.
  • Deliver evidence‑based therapeutic interventions and support patients through recovery‑focused, person‑centred care.
  • Administer and monitor medications, ensuring safe practice, documentation, and reporting of side effects or changes in presentation.
  • Respond to acute / forensic mental health crises, using de‑escalation techniques and collaborating with crisis teams to ensure patient and staff safety.
  • Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, contributing to case meetings, discharge planning, and ongoing coordination of care.
