Equipment Maintenance Technician/ Mechanical Technician

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for an Equipment Maintenance Technician to join our clients high-performing manufacturing team.
Working within a fast-paced, highly automated environment, you’ll play a critical role in maintaining and optimising world-class manufacturing equipment. This is more than a maintenance role. You’ll be at the heart of continuous improvement initiatives, helping to enhance equipment reliability, increase production output, improve quality, and drive operational excellence.
What You’ll Be Doing
As an Equipment Maintenance Technician, you will:
- Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair electronic and mechanical equipment failures.
- Perform planned preventative maintenance to maximise equipment reliability and uptime.
- Install, set up, relocate and refurbish manufacturing equipment.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and technical documentation.
- Record downtime events and corrective actions in maintenance systems.
- Collaborate with Production, Engineering and other departments to ensure rapid resolution of equipment issues.
- Drive equipment performance improvements focused on:
- Increased run rates
- Reduced cycle times
- Improved yields and quality
- Enhanced process stability
- Communicate equipment risks and capacity concerns to Team Leaders and relevant stakeholders.
- Participate in shift handovers and provide clear status updates.
- Support spare parts management and failure analysis activities.
- Partner with Process Engineers on continuous improvement projects.
- Share knowledge by training and supporting fellow Technicians and Operators.

Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- 2-4 years’ experience in a technician role within a high-volume automated manufacturing environment.
- Certificate, Diploma or Senior Trade Qualification in:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Industrial Engineering
- Or a related technical discipline.
Advantageous
- Knowledge of PLCs.
- Experience with motor drives.
- Understanding of pneumatic systems.
- Experience working with hydraulic equipment.
