About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a student who is interested in Human Resources and would like hands-on experience in a busy HR function. The HR Assistant will support the HR Manager with day-to-day administrative tasks and gain exposure to key HR processes in a supportive learning environment.
This role is primarily administrative and support-based, with training provided.
Key Responsibilities
HR & Workforce Support
- Support the preparation and distribution of employment documents (e.g. contracts, policies)
- Maintain and update employee records in line with confidentiality requirements
- Assist with tracking training completion and documentation
- Respond to basic HR queries from employees and agency workers, escalating where needed
- Assist in onsite visits and employee relations meetings.
HR Administration
- File and organise HR documentation
- Assist with leave records, timesheets, and general HR reports
- Updating employee details on HR systems and trackers
- Help prepare HR documents, templates, and internal guides
- Provide general administrative support to the HR Business Unit
Recruitment & Learning Support
- Assist with onboarding and recruitment administration
- Support assessment and induction activities where required
- Help coordinate training sessions and learning materials
Reception & Front of House Support
- Answering and transferring incoming calls
- Taking accurate messages and distributing them promptly
- Greeting visitors, candidates, and members of the public
- Scheduling IT tests for candidates
What We’re Looking For
This role is suitable for a student or recent graduate with an interest in HR.
Essential:
- Studying HR, Business, Administration, or a related discipline
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Good communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to handle confidential information responsibly
- IT skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Full Clean Drivers Licence
Desirable (but not essential):
- Previous administrative or office experience
- Interest in HR, recruitment, or people operations
- Experience in a customer-facing or support role
