The Role
As an IT Support Specialist, you will be responsible for resolving support tickets, managing Microsoft 365 environments, and maintaining client IT systems. The successful candidate will be equally comfortable supporting users in a classroom or office environment as they are working with cloud identity and endpoint management tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and administer Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Security & Compliance).
- Administer Microsoft Entra (Azure AD) for identity management, MFA, conditional access, and security.
- Configure and support devices through Microsoft Intune / Endpoint Manager (policies, compliance, app deployment).
- Provide hardware and network support, including troubleshooting desktops, laptops, printers, Wi-Fi, and AV equipment.
- Work through a ticketing system to log, track, and resolve issues within agreed SLAs.
- Deliver excellent client service to teachers, staff, and administrators in schools and ETBs.
- Maintain clear documentation of technical processes and solutions.
- Assist with security, compliance, and IT best practice initiatives across client sites.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in Microsoft 365 administration.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Entra (Azure AD).
- Experience with Microsoft Intune / Endpoint Manager.
- Good troubleshooting skills across networks, Windows devices, and printers.
- Hands-on experience using a ticketing/helpdesk system (e.g. Freshdesk, Zendesk, ServiceNow).
- Understanding of cybersecurity best practices (MFA, data protection, phishing awareness).
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Full clean driving licence and access to own transport (role will involve some client travel).
Desirable
- Previous IT support experience in the education sector.
- Knowledge of GDPR and data protection in education.
- Experience using PowerShell for Microsoft 365 automation.
- Relevant certifications (e.g. Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate, Azure Fundamentals, CompTIA A+/Network+)
