Accounts Assistant (temporary assignment)-Loughrea, Co Galway. Immediate start


Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Temporary Accounts Assistant. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our finance department, specifically in accounts payable functions. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience with QuickBooks, demonstrate a strong understanding of accounts payable processes, and be adaptable to a temporary work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and manage invoices in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and address discrepancies.
  • Ensure proper coding and documentation for all financial transactions.
  • Utilise QuickBooks to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with key vendors.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors regarding payment inquiries and discrepancies.
  • Enter financial data into the system with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Assist in other finance-related tasks and projects as directed by the Finance Manager.
  • Provide support during financial audits and month-end close processes.


  • Previous experience in accounts payable roles.
  • Proficiency in using QuickBooks for financial management.
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Flexibility to adapt to a temporary work environment.

Education and Experience:

  • Accounting, Finance, or related qualification
  • Proven experience in accounts payable roles.
