ICE Group are currently seeking a Health and Safety Leader to join our partner’s team at their Manufacturing site in Leitrim. This will be a Temporary contract to cover Maternity Leave spanning approx. 8 – 12 months. Your role will be crucial in ensuring the safety and well-being of employees by implementing the health and safety programme across the site and to promote a culture of safe work practices. Core responsibilities will include supporting safety compliance, conducting training, examining incidents and providing guidance and instructions on health and safety matters.
Role and Responsibilities
- Lead the charge in promoting a culture of safety excellence across the Manufacturing site.
- Stay current with local, national, and international safety regulations, ensuring the facility's compliance.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and implement preventive measures.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs to employees, ensuring a safety-conscious workforce.
- Lead investigations into safety incidents and near misses, recommending corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
- Develop and oversee emergency response plans and drills
- Establish and monitor key safety performance indicators, providing regular reports to senior management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improving safety processes and procedures.
- Maintain accurate safety records and documentation, including incident reports and safety manuals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment with a strong focus on safety leadership.
- In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and standards.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and influence change.
