Rural Generalist Nurse Practitioner – Murrumbidgee Local Health District? 

Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) are recruiting Rural Generalist Nurse Practitioners across the health district. Nurse Practitioners (NP) are Registered Nurses educated and authorised to function autonomously and collaboratively in an advanced and extended clinical role. The NP role includes assessment and management of clients using Nursing knowledge and skills and may include but not limited to the direct referral of clients to other health professionals, prescribing medications and ordering diagnostic investigations.  

The NP role is grounded in the Nursing professional values, knowledge and theories and practice and provides innovative and flexible health care delivery that compliments other health care providers.  The Nurse Practitioner will facilitate autonomous and shared care for clients within MLHD regional facilities including the Emergency Department, general wards and Nurse led clinics.  

MLHD operates 33 public hospitals, 12 community health centres, employs over 3,800 staff and is supported by 33 Local Health Advisory Committees and hundreds of volunteers. 

 

The Location 

Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) spans 125,243 square kilometres across southern New South Wales, stretching from the Snowy Mountains in the east to the plains of Hillston in the northwest and all the way along the Victorian border. 

MLHD has over 5,000 healthcare staff working across 33 hospitals and 12 community?healthcare centres and is supported by hundreds of volunteers who make an invaluable contribution to enriching the lives of people in the area.

Eligibility 

• At least 3 years’ experience post registration? 

• For placements in specialty areas such as Critical Care, Surgical, Emergency, Perioperative, Renal, Cardiac Interventional Services, Aged Care, Rural Generalist Nurses, Mental Health/Drug & Alcohol, are expected to have a minimum of?12 months recent experience in their specialty area. 

• Must have AHPRA, NMBI or NMC Registration 

Visa Requirements 

• TSS 482 nomination (allows you to stay for 2 to 4 years) 

• Pathway to Permanent Residency visa nomination 

• 417 Working Holiday Visa holders are accepted – may also be eligible for further nomination
