Registered Midwife – Murrumbidgee Local Health District? 

Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) are recruiting dedicated and enthusiastic Registered Midwives. Across MLHD we offer Midwifery Services in Wagga Wagga, Griffith, Tumut, Deniliquin, Cootamundra, Young, Temora and Leeton Health Services. In addition, a Midwife Group Practice (MGP) is available in Leeton which comprises a small group of midwives devoted to supporting women with low-risk pregnancies and providing specialist and personalised peri and post-natal care.  

Registered midwives will work in partnership with women using a woman centred approach to give them the necessary support, care and advice during pregnancy, labour, birth and the postpartum period. This includes being able to identify complications and seek timely referral or consultation to the appropriate health care provider.  Midwifery services across MLHD are supported by a team of Clinical Midwife Consultants, Clinical Midwife Educators and broader Midwifery Services.  

MLHD operates 33 public hospitals, 12 community health centres, employs over 3,800 staff and is supported by 33 Local Health Advisory Committees and hundreds of volunteers. 

 

The Location 

Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) spans 125,243 square kilometres across southern New South Wales, stretching from the Snowy Mountains in the east to the plains of Hillston in the northwest and all the way along the Victorian border. 

MLHD has over 5,000 healthcare staff working across 33 hospitals and 12 community?healthcare centres and is supported by hundreds of volunteers who make an invaluable contribution to enriching the lives of people in the area.

Murrumbidgee Local Health District are offering a package of up to?$25,000?total for Relocation, Settlement and Career Development. 

This includes:

Eligibility 

• At least 3 years’ experience post registration? 

• For placements in specialty areas such as Critical Care, Surgical, Emergency, Perioperative, Renal, Cardiac Interventional Services, Aged Care, Rural Generalist Nurses, Mental Health/Drug & Alcohol, are expected to have a minimum of?12 months recent experience in their specialty area. 

• Must have AHPRA, NMBI or NMC Registration 

Visa Requirements 

• TSS 482 nomination (allows you to stay for 2 to 4 years) 

• Pathway to Permanent Residency visa nomination 

• 417 Working Holiday Visa holders are accepted – may also be eligible for further nomination
